X. Registration
1. To participate in the marathon or half-marathon, you must be 18 years old or above (born before November 29, 1991), have been practicing long-distance running on a regular basis, and provide a certificate of heath issued by a registered medical institution, certifying that you are physically fit to run the race. Regardless of age, anyone who is healthy may participate in the health race.
People suffering the following diseases are unfit to run the race: congenital or rheumatic heart disease / hypertension or cerebrovascular disease / myocarditis or other cardiac condition / coronary artery disease or serious arrhythmia / diabetes / any other risk-prone diseases.
2. The number of runners for marathon or half marathon is not limited. The maximum number of runners for health race is 10,000.
3. You ought to fill out the registration form and complete the registration procedure according to the Notes on Registration.
4. A registration fee should be paid at the runner’s own cost. Marathon athletes registered with Athletics Association of the People’s Republic of China are exempted from the registration fee and will be provided with lodging by the organizers.

XI. Rules of Race
1. This race is subject to the latest Rules of International Association of Athletics Federations and the Rules of Athletics Association of the People’s Republic of China. Runners will take anti-doping test where necessary.
2. The numbers of the contestants will be prepared and distributed by the Organizing Committee.
3. All the contestants must present themselves at 6:30AM on November 29, 2009. The marathon and half-marathon start at 7:30AM. The health race starts at 7:45AM.

5. For detailed requirements and arrangements of the race, see Things to Know for Contestants (to be handed out together with the number and the timing chip).
6. The result of a marathon athlete registered with Athletics Association of the People’s Republic of China will be valid for the calculation of his/her annual ranking.

XII. Awards
1. Marathon

d. If any contestant is qualified for more than one award above, only the highest award will be presented.
(3) A runner who completes the marathon within 6 hours will be awarded with a medal, a certificate and souvenir.
2. Half Marathon

(3) A runner who finishes the half marathon within 3 hours will be awarded with a medal, a certificate of result and a souvenir.
3. Health Race
Contestants of the health race will not be ranked. Every runner will receive a Certificate of Participation.
4. A team award will be presented to the best Shanghai college/university team. The details will be determined in a separate instrument.

XIII. Technical Officers, Representatives & Judges
The technical officers, representatives and judges will be appointed by Athletics Association of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Athletics Association.
