I. Date of Race & Events::
1. Date of Race: December 5, 2010 (Sunday) 7:30 AM
2. Events: Men’s and Women’s Marathon (42.195 km); Men’s and Women’s Half Marathon (21.0975 km); Health Race (4.5 km)
II. Eligibility:
1. Anybody with a health certificate and a valid ID document, regardless of nationality, may register for the race.
2. To participate in the marathon or half-marathon, you must be at least 20 years old (that is, born before December 5, 1990) or 16 years old (that is, born before December 5, 1994) respectively, have been practicing long-distance running on a regular basis, and provide a health certificate issued by a registered medical institution, certifying that you are physically fit to run the race. To participate in the health race, you must be at least 10 years old (that is, born before December 5, 2000) and in good health.
People suffering the following diseases are unfit to run the race:
congenital or rheumatic heart disease / hypertension or cerebrovascular disease / myocarditis or other cardiac condition / coronary artery disease or serious arrhythmia / diabetes / any other risk-prone diseases.
III. Period of Registration::
First period: September 1 – 27, 2010 (including weekends). Only registrations for marathon and half-marathon are accepted;
Second period: October 10 – November 14, 2010 (including weekends). Registrations for marathon, half-marathon and health race are accepted.
Working hours: 9:00 – 17:00
The total number of participants for each race is limited. Registration will close when the limit is reached.
Period of registration of Japanese runners in Japan: August 2 – October 31, 2010 (excluding weekends). Registrations for marathon, half-marathon and health race are accepted.

B. Foreign expatriates residing or working in China: RMB 180.00 per runner for marathon, and RMB 120.00 per runner for half-marathon.
C. Chinese citizens (including those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan): RMB 60.00 per runner for marathon, and RMB 50.00 per runner for half-marathon.

Process of Online Registration and Things to Note
1) Log onto the official website of Shanghai Marathon (www.shmarathon.com).
2) Carefully read the notes on registration and relevant instructions on online registration.
3) Fill out the registration form.
4) Pay the registration fee online.
5) The runner number will be automatically generated once the registration procedures are completed.
6) After the registration is confirmed, please call at the online registration counter at Shanghai East Asia Exhibition Hall, 1500 Zhongshan Nan Er Road, present a photocopy of the ID card or valid ID document and the certificate of physical examination, sign the declaration about participation in the race and obtain the race gear collection card.
3. Inquiry about Registration:

4. Late registration is subject to review and approval. If registration is approved, the registration fee shall be twice the registration fee for the second period of registration.
5. Registration fee will not be refunded.
V. Process of Registration
1. Obtain the registration form at the registration office or download it from the official website of Shanghai Marathon (www.shmarathon.com).
2. Fill out the registration form with true and accurate information and sign the participation declaration according to requirements.
3. Call at the organizing committee for registration with the completed registration form, the health certificate (issued by a registered medical institution) and a photocopy of your ID card or valid ID document. As anybody in good health may register for the health race, no health certificate is required. The registration fee should be paid once the registration is confirmed.
4. At the time of registration, every runner of marathon or half-marathon should pay RMB 100.00 as deposit for the timing chip. This deposit will be refunded upon the runner’s reaching the finish line and returning the timing chip. Each runner may wear only one timing chip. Any runner who is found to wear more than one timing chips will be disqualified.
5. After the registration is confirmed, please collect the race gear at Shanghai East Asia Exhibition Hall, 1500 Zhongshan Nan Er Road on December 2 or 3, 2010 (9:00 – 19:00), or December 4, 2010 (9:00 – 12:00).
