1. Race Date, Time & Events
a) Date & Time—7:30am, 29th November, 2009 (Sunday) (In case of rain, the race will not be cancelled)
b) Events-Men’s & Women’s Marathon (42.195km); Men’s & Women’s Half Marathon (21.0975km); Health Race (4.5km)

2. Eligibilities
a) Anyone who holds legal identification and health certificate regardless of his or her nationality is entitled to enter.
b) To enter marathon or half marathon, one must be 18 years old (borne before 29 November, 1991) and practice long distance running consistently.

One is not entitled to enter the race, should one is suffering from the following disease such as congenital heart or rheumatic heart/ high blood pressure or cerebral/any myocarditis or other heart problem/coronary artery or arrhythmia/ diabetes/any disease which does not fit for race.

3. Date of Registration
1st phase registration for marathon and half marathon---September 1-27
2nd phase registration for marathon, half marathon and health race---October10 to November 8
Business hours---9:00am to 5:00pm (Entry office is open on weekends)
The Registration Office for marathon, half marathon and health race in Japan ---July 1 to October 31 (Entry office closes on week ends).

•Runners from abroad---US$ 45 per person for marathon and US$ 35 per person for half marathon.
•Overseas runners residing or working in China---RMB 180 Yuan per person for marathon and RMB 120 Yuan per person for half marathon.

•To log in the official website of Shanghai International Marathon www.shmarathon.com
•To read the Registration Information and any information relating to the on line registration carefully
•To fill out Registration Form
•To pay the registration fee on line
•The bib number will be generated after the registration procedure is completed.
•After the registration, bring the copy of identification or copy of any valid I.D. and health certificate (only for marathon and half marathon runners) to the on line registration window of Shanghai East Asia Exhibition Hall at 1500 Zhongshan Road No. 2 (S) and a tag for picking up racing stuff will be given after your statement of participation is signed.

d) It depends on the registration circumstance whether late registration will be accepted or not. If the late registration is accepted, the registration fee will be doubled base on the 2nd phase’s registration fee.
e) No registration fee will be refund.

5. Entry Procedure
a) Pick up Registration Form at the entry location or at www.shmarathon.com
b) Fill out every information on the Registration Form by himself or herself and sign the Statement of Participation
c) Bring the Registration Form, Health Certificate (check up by registered medical institution) and ID copy or any valid ID copy to the Organizing Committee. Runners for health race are not required to have health certificate. After the confirmation, pay the registration fee.
d) At the time of registration, every runner of marathon or half-marathon should pay RMB 100.00 as deposit for the timing chip. This deposit will be refunded upon the runner’s reaching the finish line and returning the timing chip. Each runner may wear only one timing chip. Any runner who is found to wear more than one timing chips will be disqualified.
e) Pick up the racing stuff on November 26-27 at 9:00am-7:00pm and on November 28 at 9:00-12:00 in Shanghai East Asian Exhibition Hall at 1500 Zhongshan Road No.2 (S)
